Grampian Repeater Group maintains the 2m Amateur Radio Repeaters GB3GN (Banchory) and GB3NG (Inverurie) located in NE Scotland. The considerable running costs of the repeaters are entirely funded by the membership and donations.
It is with sadness, it was decided at an EGM of the Grampian Repeater Group held on the 19th March 2026, that the group would be dissolved. Only 8 members attended the meeting - membership has been in steep decline for some years. It is anticipated that the two VHF repeaters, GB3GN and GB3NG, will permanently close down and fall silent at 23:59 on 31st March 2026. GB3GN has been on air for 47 years, whilst GB3NG for 42 years. A committee has been formed to dismantle the equipment and dispose of the assets of the group. This is expected to take up to 12 months.
